Lyrics

THE DAREDEVIL KID
Craig Moreau

I've been working this day job for ten years or so

The paycheck is steady but these boots hurt my toes

I hung up my guitar when the baby was born

As well as a piece of my soul

All I thought that I wanted was more than I need

A comfortable chair and some night time TV

Catching a nap replaced chasing the dream

But what am I teaching my son

(chorus)

You can be anything you want to be

Fly just as far and high as you please

You can reach for the stars from the top of the trees

As long as everyone agrees

And you can land without skinning your knees

When decisions were made by the flip of a coin

Directions that we're given often ignored

Where unanswered questions were the air that I'd breathe

And the daredevil kid just lived for the dream

If fear is crime I'm guilty as sin

Afraid of the state that I used to live in

And lost are the days when I'd never give in

I wonder what happened to the daredevil kid
