Hey All!

Hope you’ve had a great summer! Just want to give you all an update on what’s going on in my world. Got a couple of dates coming up with the band, August 27th at 9pm, at The Ironwood Stage and Grill in Calgary. I will be joined by the amazingly talented singer/songwriter, Lucette! ( Then off to East Coulee, Alberta for the second annual Badlands Boogie on September 4th. We played this fundraiser for the East Coulee trestle bridge last year in the rain, and still had a great time! Hoping for better weather this year! I don’t have anything scheduled after this, as I need to get to work replenishing the bank account so I can finish the record I started a while back. I’m not quitting, just taking a step back to figure out the “new music industry”. It’s definitely a struggle, but one I am committed to overcome!

Many thanks and lotsa love,

Well I guess I”m overdue for an update. Things have slowed a bit for me, but I’m definitely looking forward to what lies ahead! I would like to congratulate Dan Mangan on his WCMA win for songwriter of the year. It was such an honour to be nominated! We had a great time at the inaugural Wide Cut Weekend festival! Big Thanks to Allison Brock, Gillian Turnbull, Alanna Martineau, Andy Stanislav, Kevin Warren and the rest of the organizers, volunteers, venues, and sponsors! Here’s to hoping that it’s just the beginning of a very long running roots festival! We played to a Friday night full house at Mikey’s Juke Joint, with good friends John Wort Hannam, Mike Stack, Tim Buckley, Mariel Buckley and other great artists on the bill! We are getting back to rehearsals to get even tighter and always adding new material. I’ve been writing some new songs and am hoping to have a new recording done by the spring. I have also been working on booking a spring western Canadian tour, with a couple of venues already sewn up!
Please keep checking back for updates and hop on to Facebook and visit Craig Moreau Music, give us a like and you’ll be kept in the loop with all upcoming performances or follow me on Twitter at @craigmoreau. I always answer any inquiries, questions or comments!
See ya down the road!

Hello all! I have to apologize for the late update but after being away for a couple of months, things on the old ‘TO DO’ list have been piling up. I have got to start with some really great news;
   I have been nominated for Songwriter Of The Year by the Western Canadian Music Awards at Breakout West 2015!
This is a huge honour for me as I have been working towards recognition as a songwriter as long as I can remember. Big thanks to Alberta Music! The Daredevil Kid is still doing well and I have started tracking some new songs that will be available soon! As most of you know, its definitely strange times in the music biz and I am working hard at trying to stay current. With things moving the way they are, what is current now may be outdated next week! Look for some new updates on the website as well as some easier links, coming in the near future. The Taurino Band has now regrouped and we are looking forward playing some shows this fall. We will be at The Ironwood Stage in Calgary on Saturday, August 22nd  and I will be in the Songwriters Showcase at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, AB on August 1st!

March Update

It has sure been a crazy few months!

Finished off December with a couple of really fun gigs with The Taurino Band and moved into the new year with The Daredevil Kid reaching #1 on The Roots Music Report album chart in Canada (all genres) and hitting #2 on their Americana Country chart in the U.S. (Sandwiched in between Justin Townes Earle and Old Crow Medicine Show)

Then it was off to Kansas City for an official showcase at the Folk Alliance International Conference as well as several private showcases with The Bow Valley Folk Club and Breakout West!

Now I am in Austin, Texas, to do a little recording and then hit the stage for a couple more unofficial showcases. I will be at Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos on March 19th at 11pm for the Bill Wence Promotions showcase, then on the 21st I’ll be doing a set at the G&S Bar at 7:30 pm with Andre Moran for John Conquests’ 3rd Coast Music showcase.

I have been able to catch some stellar talent while here in Austin. I have seen in no particular order Walt Wilkins, Dale Watson, James McMurtry, John Dee Graham, Joe Pug, Kevin Welch, Dustin Welch and The Wagoneers. If you don’t know these artists, I suggest you look them up! I plan to see as many acts as possible while I’m here and hope to absorb some of their awesome talent!

Stay tuned for updates on the new recordings and when and how they will become available.

Loving Texas but am anxious to get home!

Stay cool!
